Guion is a town located in Izard County, Arkansas. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 90.

Geography

Guion is located at 35°55'35" North, 91°56'26" West (35.926425, -91.940598)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²). 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 90 people, 37 households, and 26 families residing in the town. The population density is 59.9/km² (155.3/mi²). There are 45 housing units at an average density of 30.0 persons/km² (77.6 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 88.89% White, 10.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.11% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 37 households out of which 21.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.2% are married couples living together, 2.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.7% are non-families. 27.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 21.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 2.85.

In the town the population is spread out with 23.3% under the age of 18, 2.2% from 18 to 24, 16.7% from 25 to 44, 24.4% from 45 to 64, and 33.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 53 years. For every 100 females there are 91.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 86.5 males.
