Clemmons is a village located in Forsyth County, North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 13,827.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 28.1 km² (10.8 mi²). 27.7 km² (10.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.20% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 13,827 people, 5,291 households, and 3,947 families residing in the village. The population density is 498.5/km² (1,291.2/mi²). There are 5,614 housing units at an average density of 202.4 persons/km² (524.2 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 89.87% White, 5.21% African American, 0.09% Native American, 2.10% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.76% from other races, and 0.95% from two or more races. 3.54% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 5,291 households out of which 36.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.5% are married couples living together, 7.7% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 25.4% are non-families. 21.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
