Elizabeth I was a television series consisting of two 1 1/2 hour episodes produced by Channel 4 in 2005. Starring Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons. The series premiered in the United States on HBO on April 22, 2006. The series was broadcast in Hong Kong on ATV from April 7-28,2006

This series' broadcast forced the BBC to postpone the premiere broadcast of The Virgin Queen (also on Elizabeth I) until January/February 2006. The Virgin Queen was already ready at the time of the Channel 4 series' broadcast.
