Box of Frogs were a blues-based hard rock band featuring former members of the 1960s group, The Yardbirds. Founded in 1983 by guitarist Chris Dreja, bass player Paul Samwell-Smith and drummer Jim McCarty, after a performance at the famous Marquee Club in London, which also included ex-Medicine Head John Fiddler on vocals. Their eponymous 1984 debut album, Box of Frogs featured guest guitarist Jeff Beck, while their second album Strange Land, included Jimmy Page on a number of tracks. The band spilt in 1988, with all members eventually reforming as The Yardbirds in the 1990s. It wasn't possible for original Yardbirds lead singer Keith Relf to be part of Box of Frogs as he had died in 1976.
