Halifax Town Association Football Club are an English football team currently playing in the Conference National. The club's current ground is The Shay.

The club was formed in 1911, and were one of the founder members of Football League Third Division North in 1921, and remained in that division until restructuring in 1958.

By the late 1980's they had become stuck in the lower reaches of the Fourth Division, and were relegated to the Conference in 1993.

Despite several poor seasons, they won promotion back to the League in 1998, only to be relegated again in 2002, when financial problems forced them into administration.

As of 2005, they are the only club to have been relegated to the Conference twice.
