The Stone of Destiny is the name of two historical stones:-

The Stone of Scone formerly the coronation throne of the Monarchs of Scotland, later taken to Westminster Abbey and now returned to Scotland. the Stone of Scone is a flat square stone able to be inserted in the base of St Edward's Chair (the coronation throne) in Westminster Abbey.

The Lia Fáil is an obelisk monolithic like stone in Ireland connected with the coronation of the Irish Kings.

The 'Lia Fáil' is sometimes confused with the 'Stone of Scone'.
