Primate (bishop)

(The word primate is also used, with a different meaning, and a different pronunciation, in zoology. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word is pronounced with a schwa in the second syllable when used in the older, religious sense, and a long "a" sound, as in "mate", when used in the newer, zoological sense)

A Primate is a bishop who has precedence over a large number of bishoprics, such as a nation, or his cathedral church.
