Grip

Grip is a term with many uses:

  • grip (job), job in the film industry
  • key grip, the chief grip on a film set
  • grip (sport fencing) or hilt, part of a sword
  • grip (tennis), how a tennis racquet is held
  • grip (cricket bowling), how a cricket ball is held by a bowler
  • grip (gymnastics), a leather hand protector used on the bars in gymnastics
  • grip strength, hand strength
  • Grip (rapper), a female rapper
  • Grip audio ripper (Grip), an audio ripping program within the Linux GNOME project
  • Grip, Norway, an archipelago, deserted fishing village, and former municipality in Norway
  • Greenland ice core project (GRIP)
  • Grip (auto), a Swedish automobile manufacturer, also known as Grantorpets karosserifabrik
  • GRIP (highway), Governor's Road Improvement Program in Georgia, USA. Certain non-Interstate highway corridors are upgraded to 4-lanes (mostly divided). Georgia Code 32-4-22 defines which highways, or portions thereof, are part of the GRIP program.
