Davy Jones (Pirates of the Caribbean)

Davy Jones, or Davey Jones is a fictional pirate. He is a main villain in the film Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), played by Bill Nighy.
He is the captain of a ship featured in other nautical lore, The Flying Dutchman. In the movie, Captain Jack Sparrow owes a debt to Davy Jones for unexplained reasons, and the plot of the movie is his race to pay it off or else forfeit his soul. Davy Jones also controls the loyalties of "Bootstrap Bill" Turner, and is believed to have Captain Barbossa as his prisoner. He has a crew of half-man, half-sea creatures, and has the power to summon a Kraken.
Template:Spoiler He has a treasure, namely the Dead Man's Chest, which holds his heart. He ripped it out from his body because his lover has left him. Jack Sparrow will need to get hold of the chest to pay his debt.
Trivia
- He has wriggling beard which is a possible homage to the Ghost Pirate LeChuck, who also has animated bristles.
- His appearance is similar to H.P. Lovecraft's slumbering submarine god Cthulhu
- His is appearance is similar to Nym from the Star Wars: Starfighter video game.
