My name is Darin Brown. I studied mathematics at University of California, Santa Barbara; my advisor was Jeffrey Stopple (check out his new number theory book), and my research interests lie in algebraic number theory and Fuchsian groups. In particular, my dissertation examined how prime geodesics in quotients of the hyperbolic plane by certain Fuchsian groups lift to higher surfaces determined by congruence subgroups.

I am currently working as a poker brush/dealer at [1] in Santa Ynez, California. My interests and areas of knowledge include mathematics, music, film, poker, chess, comics, and baseball. This list is not exhaustive.
