SGCSim

Hey Sam you edited the SGCSim article a few days ago, removing the "on hold" bit for version 5.1.0. Do you have any evidence to back that up? Also, your name is familiar, are you on SGCSim.com or FanFiction.net or GameFAQs.com ? tpg1989 06:29, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:PHKyoukan.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 12:36, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have fixed the copyright problem. -PH

Thanks

... for the message. I totally understand the frustration, and in the short-term probably not a bad idea. But some people do it -- and leave it there for an extended period of time -- without realizing that it in fact does nothing to protect the article. Then it just gets confusing to editors. Nothing to worry about, thanks for your hard work. · Katefan0(scribble)/poll 20:42, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Apology

  • I wish to extend to you an apology for a fiery temper and the personal attacks. I would like to hear an apology from you too. Why? I think you did some personal attacking of your own today. --Bookofsecrets 00:31, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I approve!

I love cheese. My favorite is probably double gloucester. Or maybe cheddar with chives. Or cheddar with mustard seeds. Oh why bother picking a favorite? I'll eat all of it. · Katefan0 (scribble)/poll 15:47, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see you removed the image gallery on Reefer Madness (1936 film), saying "The gallery is not appearing properly. I have removed it until this problem is fixed." What browser/OS/screen resolution combination are you using? It appears perfectly fine on Firefox, Windows XP, all resolutions. So I'm going to revert your removal, on the theory that it appears correctly for the majority of Wikipedia users. If you disagree, please add to the Talk page. --Quuxplusone 05:33, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dr. McNinja

Because its article was deleted through WP:AFD rather than WP:PROD, I moved your deletion request from the "Proposed deletions" sections into the main "Decisions to be reviewed" area. You can access the discussion directly at Wikipedia:Deletion review/The Adventures of Dr. McNinja. –Abe Dashiell (t/c) 13:47, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Hi PHDrillSergeant, thanks for supporting my request for adminship! Unfortunately, it ended with a final tally of 45/15/2, no consensus. I may have another go in the near future, once the school year is over. Thanks again! -- getcrunkjuicecontribs 22:13, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cyde

I'm deeply sorry if I offended you with my comment. But you were indeed wikilawyering, and proclaiming a good-faith contributior was acting in bad faith. I really do not think you are in a posistion to lecture fellow contributors about unnecessary commments in light of your most recent addition to Cyde's talkpage [1].

I'll not argue that Cyde's methods are not always favorable amoung the community, but I'm sure he's acting in good faith, as are you. We all have different viewpoints on what is best for the encyclopedia, and Cyde is merely invoking that. -ZeroTalk 16:00, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved this section started by User_talk:PHDrillSergeant to his talk page, and am urging him to take this to the next step in dispute resolution. This page is not for resolving longstanding disputes between editors, but for dealing with relatively urgent incidents that may need the attention of an administrator.

Please see Wikipedia:Resolving disputes. --Tony Sidaway 00:03, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cyde (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) (aka Cyde Weys) has been, for the past month, abusing his administrator privileges. I have seen him block users for small infractions, flame people who speak against him, unblock himself because it was inconvenient, delete templates which have reached a mostly unanimous keep consensus, troll, and be, in general, not a nice person.

Also, the user Fake User (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) is, most probably, a sock puppet of Cyde; on WP:TfD, in the May 15 section, Fake User made many userbox deletion requests (this was of course after Cyde was asked not to make any more userbox deletion requests) at 19:21 UTC, beginning Here. Ten minutes later, at 19:30, Cyde went through and added "Subst and delete, not an encyclopedic template" to EVERY one of Fake User's requests. This tells me that Fake User (added just a day or two after Cyde's promise to not make any more userbox deletion requests) is almost definitely a sock puppet of Cyde in order for him to keep deleting things without reprimand. Not to mention, everywhere I go, Cydebot is screwing up User pages.

Cyde is rude, patronizing, denigrating, and seems to believe that Wikipedia is "not a community"; it is simply an encyclopedia and nothing more. I belive that Cyde needs to be de-admined, asked to take a Wikibreak, or at least spoken sternly to. Because of Cyde, I, myself, have been as of late contemplating leaving my beloved Wikipedia. I am at my wits' end, and I do not wish to be "cyber-bullied" by this admin anymore. Nor does anyone else. --Porphyric Hemophiliac § 01:03, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Although not directly affected, I have definately seen Cyde act certain ways that are very inappropriate for an admin Paul Cyr 01:47, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Same here. He has nomed so many userboxes that it isn't even funny Aeon 17:13, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I second that motion; I do agree with PHDrillSergeant. If an admin abuses his/her powers, they will need to be desysoped, or at least put on administrative probation. Funnybunny (talk/Counter Vandalism Unit) 23:00, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
We shouldn't be too quick to jump on the desysop wagon, but I do believe that the sheer volume of complaints against Cyde recently suggests a more formal investigation into claims against them be raised. I will say that some of the complaints have been incredibly baseless, but this should be looked into. The Ungovernable Force 23:07, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PHDrillSergeant, please see some of the discussions above for further complaints about Cyde and his actions. --mboverload@ 23:50, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question: Can anyone point to an instance where Cyde has performed an action that directly inhibited the editing of the encyclopaedia? --Sam Blanning(talk) 23:56, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Depends on how broad your definition is. I won't bring up my own experiences; While they were less than the taste of honey in my mouth I haven't a reason to go off trolling for/against Cyde. --Avillia (Avillia me!) 23:59, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've been at ends with many of Cyde's actions, but still think that he may be doing what he thinks is best for the encyclopedia. This may not be what everyone else wants, but generally there is nothing that everyone wants. Nothing he's done seems to warrant any quick desysop this guy before the project burns to the ground reactions. This doesn't seem to be an actionable item here on AN/I, but may need more details as mboverload above mentioned. An RfC may be a good start. — xaosflux Talk 00:01, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing to do with userboxes warrants any anything. The userbox war is a game. If you choose to play, you accept that your piece may be taken. You may have to wait longer than in Counter Strike before you're back in the game, but it's much less of a wait than in chess. Much like Russian Roulette, the only way to win is not to play. --Sam Blanning(talk) 00:06, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Or to load the gun with blanks. On a different note, the guy has already had two different RfCs. --Avillia (Avillia me!) 00:17, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Can you dig up links to those RfCs? I was thinking of filing an RfC after his recent rudeness at AN/I, but if it's just more of the same stuff that's been complained about in previous RfCs, there's not much point of filing again, is there? If anyone were serious about doing something, it'd be time for ArbComm. -lethe talk + 01:09, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
According to our article on Russian Roulette even blanks can cause concussion or deafness. Besides, only two? Even I have one of those. --Sam Blanning(talk) 00:19, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes? Yawn. Drop me a line when you want to complain about something that actually impacts the encyclopedia. -Hit bull, win steak(Moo!) 15:14, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion

I have tagged one of your articles for speedy deletion. Please feel free to defend your article. --Siva1979Talk to me 21:27, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I have tried to find the history of my edits as well as your edits and I could not find the proper name of the article you have created just before 21:26, 21 May 2006! I guess, I should have linked the particular article in your User Talk page. My mistake! Anyway, the article in question was most probably deleted by one of the administrators after tagging it. I guess that even they found the article fit for speedy deletion as well. --Siva1979Talk to me 01:55, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!

Hi! I just read through your user page and I quickly read that you have Asperger Syndrome. A guy in my class has A.S., and he is specially good at a few certain things. Then I wonder, what are your specialities?
