The fictional villains of the Power Rangers universe that appeared in the television series Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue and opposed the Galaxy Power Rangers were demons who served the Queen Bansheera.

5,000 years ago, a faction of demons were the evil that reigned in a part of the world that will be soon Mariner Bay with plans to destroy and conquer. Unfortunatly, they were sealed away in the Tomb of Forever by a warlock. 5,000 years later, the demons weres released from a centuries-long imprisonment at the beginning of the series by wandering nomads. The demons worked to restored Queen Bansheera to power. The leader of the demons at any one time (below Bansheera herself) wielded the Star Power. This Star Power was passed from its initial owner, Diabolico, to Bansheera's son Olympius during the course of the series as Bansheera awaits the day to release the demons from the Shadow World.

Information about the demons can be found below.

Diabolico

Diabolico is the primary villain for the first part of the Lightspeed Rescue series. He initially possessed the Star Power, and attacked the Rangers with his army of demons. After repeated failures, however, Diabolico was threatened by Queen Bansheera, who wanted to take his Star Power and give it to her son Impus. Diabolico challenged the Rangers himself, but was bested by the Lightspeed Solarzord. His Star Power went to Impus, who matured into Olympius.

Diabolico was later revived (from what was said to be the Shadow World) by Vypra and Loki, who had been exiled from the Skull Cavern by a newly returned Bansheera. He immediately returned to his queen's side, attempting to regain favor with her and recapture his Star Power. His plans went so far as to trap Olympius in the shadow world, where all dead monsters dwell. However, Olympius escaped, and Diabolico's disloyalty was punished with the destruction of his ally Loki. He turned against Bansheera, and told the Red Lightspeed Ranger where to strike to defeat her, though she survived.

Fleeing Bansheera, Diabolico was attacked and defeated by a vengeful Olympius. He was dragged back to Bansheera, who turned him into Olympius' mindless pet. The two then attacked the Rangers, but Diabolico's noble side came back out. Bansheera then put him back under her control and turned him and Olympius into Super Demons. The two were destroyed, but Diabolico had one more role to play. When Bansheera was hanging over the Shadow World entrance, Diabolico's spirit appeared and dragged her into it, taking revenge for her evil. His spirit followed her in.

NOTE: Diabolico was also responsible for the training of Ryan Mitchell, the Titanium Ranger. Years ago, he made a deal with Captain Mitchell to save Ryan's life, on the condition that Ryan would belong to Diabolico. This later turned against him, as Ryan became a powerful foe of the demons.

Diabolico is voiced by Neil Kaplan.

Vypra

Vypra is one of only two female demons, along with Queen Bansheera.

Vypra is the most human-looking demon in serpentine armor and adept in demonic magic. Vypra was the motherly figure to young Impus with Queen Bansheera missing.

She led several attacks on the Rangers, including the use of her Vyprari dune buggy. When Olympius tried to destroy Vypra and Loki, they retaliated by bringing back Diabolico from the dead to deal with him. She was later destroyed by Queen Bansheera, who used her energy to regain a humanoid form.

Vypra later returned, as the Demon Princess, with an army of undead soldiers, teaming up with the mutant Ransik to revive the Super Demon Quargenon in Silver Hills to destroy the Lightspeed Rangers and the Time Force Rangers. However, she was destroyed again.

Vypra is played by Jennifer L. Yen.

Loki

Loki is a loyal warrior and friend to Diabolico and Vypra. He serves as the dumb muscle of the demons, and was considered expendable by Bansheera. This led her to control Diabolico into destroying him, and Diabolico vowed revenge for Loki.

Loki is voiced by David Lodge.

Olympius

Olympius was the son of Queen Bansheera. He initially appeared as the infant, Impus, who was cared for by the Demons in her absence. Impus was the greatest threat to Diabolico, as Bansheera threatened to give Impus the Star Power. He eventually gained it, maturing into the draconic Olympius. He took Diabolico's place as the Rangers' main antagonist, but was not as adept as his predecessor.

He gained access to the Aquabase when he captured four of the Rangers and assumed their forms. Carter Grayson (Red Ranger) was able to see right through him and foiled his plans.

Olympius had managed to destroy the Rangers once, but Carter went back in time to change that.

Olympius managed to revive Bansheera, but instead of treating him like a prince, she acted like he was scum. His plans to win her affection were hampered by the return of Diabolico, but that was after he betrayed Loki and Vypra in trying to eliminate them. In an attempt to destroy the Rangers, he used Gatekeeper to trap them in the Shadow World roaming with defeated demons. However, he himself became trapped at Diabolico's bidding. He was forced to absorb the destroyed Demons, evolving into an even more dragon-like version of himself. However, he still needed more power to escape the Shadow World.

Jinxer, still loyal to Olympius, placed a Star Power link inside the Aquabase generator to provide Olympius with energy. However, he was still unable to beat the Rangers. He lay recuperating under the care of Jinxer for a short time, and then struck back at Diabolico. He and the then mindless Demon attacked the Rangers, and were turned into Super Demons. However, they were destroyed by the Lifeforce Megazord.

Impus is voiced by Brianne Siddall while his adult form of Olympius is voiced by Michael Forest.

Jinxer

Jinxer served as the Finster character for the demons. He was highly loyal to Olympius, and uses his deck of cards to summon demons. Jinxer is also an accomplished hypnotist. Jinxer was destroyed by the Rangers while piloting the Omega Megazord, which was destroyed to prevent its evil use.

Jinxer is voiced by Kim Strauss.

Queen Bansheera

Queen Bansheera is the evil monarch of the demons. She was in parts unknown when Diabolico and his band were freed, and later returned in an energy form. She was later brought back physically by a ceremony enacted by Olympius, but because of the Rangers' tampering, she was a grotesque form. She later regained her humanoid form by destroying Vypra and absorbing her life energy.

Bansheera set out to conquer the world, and proved far more ruthless than Diabolico or Olympius. She forced Diabolico to destroy Loki, left her own son in the Shadow World, and nearly destroyed the Rangers. Despite Diabolico telling the Red Lightspeed Ranger to strike where her heart should be, she continued to menace the Rangers. She eventually turned Diabolico and Olympius into Super Demons, but they were defeated.

However, Bansheera planned to open the Shadow World within a sarcophagus and free all the demons from the Shadow World. Taking over the Aquabase and the Omega Megazord, she was close to succeeding. However, she ended up suspended above the Demon World portal by the Red Lightspeed Ranger. A vengeful Diabolico appeared, pulling her inside, where she was pounced upon by the demons.

Queen Bansheera is voiced by Diane Salinger.

Triskull

Triskull is a Demon warrior who swears allegiance to Trakeena. He is the leader of the ghouls, foot soldiers Trakeena uses with the destruction of her Sting Wingers. He pretends to aid Olympius in collecting energy for Queen Bansheera, but is actually collecting it so Trakeena can return to her insectoid form. He attempts to stop the Rangers from entering the building where the energy is kept, and is destroyed by the Red Galaxy and Lightspeed Rangers.

Triskull is voiced by Michael Sorich.
