Leena Peisa

Leena Peisa is better known by her stage name Awa, under which she plays the keyboard in the band Lordi, winners of the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. Peisa's former bands include Dolchamar from Porvoo.

In Lordi she takes on the persona of an unearthly Vampire Countess. She replaced the former blond Lordi keyboardist Enary, played by Erna Siikavirta, in 2005. The name Awa comes from Be Aware. On the bands website she is said to have many other names. The British newspaper the Daily Mail wrongly credited a photo of Siikavirta sans makeup as being Awa. Peisa's other band Dolchamar have removed all photos from their website. Perhaps a coincidence, or just playing along with the monster image. In Greece, television channels claim to have videos and photos of the band sans stage make-up.
