The Gutenberg Galaxy: The Making of Typographic Man is a book written by Marshall McLuhan and first published in 1962.

This book popularised the terms global village and Gutenberg Galaxy. McLuhan analyed the effects of various communication media and techniques on European culture and human concioussness. He also argued that the development of printing press lead to the creation of nationalism, dualism, domination of rationalism, automatisation of scientific research, uniformation and standarisation of culture and alienation of individuals.
