Joe Gittleman (born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on April 6, 1970) is an American musician.

He is best known as the bassist for The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Joe originally had played guitar in the Bosstones, but he switched roles with former bosstone Nate Albert when he realized he had a better bass than guitar. While in Italy in 1993 with the band Joe was stabbed just below the lung by an albanian bootlegger. He has also played bass in Gang Green and Avoid One Thing. The band Avoid One Thing have since gone on hiatus, similar to that of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
