Eris (Billy and Mandy)
Eris is one of the recurring characters from the TV show The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Eris is voiced by actor Rachael MacFarlane.
Biography
Eris is the Greek goddess of strife and matron deity of the Discordianism religion, here portrayed as a curvaceous and beautiful, but vindictive, blonde woman. Her accent and mode of speech is prone to sudden shifts, from a stereotypical valley girl to a refined British woman. She has a very noticable gap between her front teeth.
Eris delights in causing all kinds of chaos. She possesses the powerful Apple of Discord, a golden apple which can transform into any shape to perpetuate chaos. She does a multitude of destructive things, from a dropping a bucket of water on people's heads (To Eris Human), to creating an army of mind-controlling Teddy Bears (Happy Huggy Stuffy Bears).
Eris' appearance is possibly a reference to Madonna, who is known for her blonde hair and coquettishness and for adopting a faux British accent. Eris is even depicted in her second appearance with a gap in her front teeth similar to Madonna's.
She is a rival to Grim. Grim had a crush on her in To Eris Human, when she was behaving like a valley girl and didn't seem serious in her attempts to create chaos (she threw a bucket of water on Mandy's head), but she didn't like him. Since then, she behaves more like goddess of chaos, and her later attempts are more serious. Grim often must fight her chaos. For example, in the episode Happy Huggy Stuffy Bears he stopped her army of Teddy Bears by happily chopping their heads off.
She seems to like Mandy. In Complete and Utter Chaos she told her that she is "Cute when gets angry". She once offered to let Mandy conquer the world with her, but Mandy refused because she didn't want to be "the second most powerful in the universe".
