A song by New York City band Morningwood, with a music video showing the band on sets and in costumes carefully calculated to reference and parody about 16 other famous album covers or music videos from 20th century popular music. Hopefully the obsessive fandom rampant on Wikipedia can help fill in the blanks and annotate the 16 references properly.

  • "Smell The Wood"- heavy metal w zebra skirt- Def Leppard? they produce & eat the banana towards the end
  • main set with intertwined M and W logo? guy in sweater? Weezer?
  • "Old Country Morning"- cowprint suits
  • red & lime green album with writing that appears to be Swedish (?)- seems to be modeled on an old Peter Paul & Mary cover
  • "le bois de martin (?)- degre l'infine (?)"- guys lounging on white shag, suits wo ties, martinis?
  • "The Woods - Mourning". modeled on a Fleetwood Mac album cover perhaps?
  • "Morningjerks"- punk rockers in front of a brick wall- Circle Jerks? Skid Row? Blondie? The Ramones eponymous album seems most likely.
  • Devo imitation titled "Morgenholz"
  • "Moneywood - Stacks Of Cash" refers to some 90s rappers, and has the familiar Parental Advisory "Tipper sticker". which rappers?
  • 4 squares, MW logo again, vaguely heavy metal? Guitarist in upperleft on green square is dressed entirely in black leather. Jefferson Starship?

  • Rappity Dippity Rap- Zip Zap Rap-Devestating Dave (the Turntable Slave)
