Maja Gojković

Maja Gojković (Serbian Cyrillic: Маја Гојковић) is the mayor of the city of Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia, and the vice president of the Serbian Radical Party, one of the largest political parties in Serbia.

Maja Gojković was born on May 22, 1963 in Novi Sad. She attended the "Branko Radičević" elementary school and the "Jovan Jovanović Zmaj" high school. After getting her law degree from University of Novi Sad in 1987, she passed her bar exam in 1989. A year later she started working in her family's law firm "Gojković".

Gojković is one of the founders of Serbian Radical Party, first holding the position of sectretary general, then vice president of executive council, and now she is vice president of the party. She is Vojislav Šešelj's legal representative before the Hague War Crimes Tribunal.

Maja Gojković has been a representative in the parliament of Federal Republic of Yugoslavia since 1991. Before running for mayor of Novi Sad she held a place in the federal parliament of State Union of Serbia and Montenegro.

From 1996 until 2000 she was a member of AP Vojvodina parliament. In 1998 and 1999 she was a non-portfolio minister in Serbian government. Gojković also served as vice chairman of the federal government of FR Yugoslavia in 1999.
