The Day of Revolution (革命の日, Kakumei no Hi) is a 1999 manga written and illustrated by Mikiyo Tsuda. The manga has been picked up by Digital Manga Publishing to be published in North America.

Plot

Kei was a normal boy in high school until he discovers one day after a sudden fainting spell that he was one of a very few who have a unqiue genetic defect called XX male syndrome where he is physically male with XX chromosomes which actually makes him a girl.

Later Kei, who changes his name to Megumi, decides to try living as a girl, but it's not as easy as she thinks. Upon arrival at school as Megumi, she finds that her male friends when she lived as a boy all start hitting on her. Shocked at their new behavior, Megumi starts to develop an aversion for all boys.

Characters

Kei/Megumi Yoshikawa
The main character, Kei was a normal boy in high school until he started to live as a girl and changed his name to Megumi. He has a genetic disorder called XX male syndrome. The problem is that even as Megumi dresses as a girl, she still feels more like a boy, and feels more comfortable when around Makoto.
Makoto Yutaka
One of Kei's female friends who knows about his situation.
Mikoto Yutaka (豊実琴, Yutaka Mikoto)
Makoto's younger brother.

Manga

The Day of Revolution manga was first serialized in the manga magazine Wings, with the first tankoubon released in March 1999. Later, the chapters were collected into two seperate volumes, published by Shinshokan, and has already ended in Japan.
