Appearance
Luigi Galvani (September 9 1737 - December 4 1798) was an Italian physician and physicist who lived and died in Bologna.
He coined the term animal electricity to describe the effects of an electric current on dissected animal muscles. His contemporary Alessandro Volta named the phenomenon 'galvanism' after him. His work also inspired Volta to invent the voltaic pile, an early electric battery.
