Topčider (Serbian: Топчидер) is a suburb in Belgrade, Serbia, located in the municipality of Savski Venac.

Topčider incident

Located in Topčider is a military complex. In October 2004, two guards there were mysteriously found shot dead. The first official army report stated that the two guards got into a fight; one got shot, and the other committed suicide. Because of serious rumours, a more thorough investigation was initiated. It appeared that the two soldiers were shot by a third party. The exact situation has never been clarified, but it is widely suggested that the two guards were the witnesses of a high-profile indictee of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, who was supposedly hiding in the Topčider complex.
