Folks,
I woke up this morning dreaming about Wikipedia. I think I'm devoting too much time and energy to the project.
I'm the 6th-most-frequent contributor. That's crazy (what's even more crazy is that I felt compelled to put a link into the previous sentence). I don't need to do that much work. It's not like the project will fail without my constant daily attention.
So I'm going to follow Larry's advice and example. Better than that, I'm going to stay off the mailing lists *and* the encyclopedia for the rest of the month.

Ed, I read your contributions on the TMC talk page.
Netesq (aka David F.Prenatt, and yes, he claims to be a lawyer) is a very difficult and angering bit of work indeed. I've run afoul of his venomous "decency = evil suppression of freedom of speech" rant myself. I ended up leaving this website for a while because of him.
My own view is that TMC has a screw seriously loose in his head for using such an obviously offensive name in the first place, and it remains very unfortunate that it took the walkout referred to by Mav before even some kind of compromise was attempted.
His reference of other at best controversial entries to justify his 'nick' illustrates to me the dangers of having them there in the first place. They tend to attract persons like him.
Hello Ed, have a Happy New Year. I am glad, that you took the advise to lay off a while and don't get burned out. Gutes Neues Jahr and have a good trip. You know who.

It's time to update the list of most active Wikipedians, complied last over a month ago.
I resent the implication that I am somehow disruptive because of incidents like the edit war on Isaac Asimov. The fact that you and others accepted changes to the article, changes suggested by me, should reason that I accomplished some good there, except, of course, that I suggested said changes which others argue is reason enough to condemn the changes.
You acted as if you had made a compromise however it is clear from the talk page that I had been arguing such a change for some time, in short, your compromise was nothing but my change, presented by a different user, and thus somehow more palatable merely because it didn't seem to originate from me.
