Walter Mackenzie

Walter C. Mackenzie (19091978) was a Canadian surgeon and academic.

He was a Professor and chairman of the Department of Surgery at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Medicine. From 1959 to 1973, he was the Dean of Medicine.

In 1949, he was a founding director and shareholder of the Edmonton Eskimos.

In 1970, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada "for his contribution to surgery and medical education". [1]

The Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre in Edmonton, Alberta is named in his honour.
