Jackson Roy Kirk is a fictional character from the Star Trek universe, and was discussed but never seen on the Star Trek: The Original Series episode The Changeling.

Jackson Roy Kirk was a 21st Century robotics engineer who built the space probe known as Nomad which was launched from Earth to explore the galaxy.

Nomad eventually collided with another alien space probe and the two machine's programming merged causing a conflict of orders. Nomad confused the directive of the alien probe: "collect and sterilize soil samples", with his own: "searching the galaxy for new life" and somehow understood his mission to now be: "sterilize imperfection". To Nomad, imperfection meant all life he encountered.

Nomad was absurdly powerful; he was only a meter long and possessed bizarre weaponry capable of destroying planets. He also had the powers to both kill and bring his victims back to life, and he even employed psychic powers as well, which allowed him to mind meld with Mr. Spock.

After destroying all life in a star system, Nomad encountered the U.S.S. Enterprise and wreaked havoc upon the ship. Nomad's end came when he discovered he made a mistake in confusing Captain James T. Kirk with his maker Jackson Roy Kirk, an imperfect thing to do, and he "sterilizes" himself.
