Lord Djibril

Lord Djibril is a fictional character from the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. He is voiced by Hori Hideyuki in the Japanese version and Alistair Abell in the English dub. Lord Djibril is the leader of the Earth Forces 81st Independent Mobile Battalion, the Phantom Pain, and the successor to former Blue Cosmos leader, Muruta Azrael.

Template:Spoiler Lord Djibril is first seen in Gundam SEED Destiny during which the remains of Junius Seven are about to fall and hit Earth. There, he is at a meeting with top LOGOS officials to discuss what should happen after the incident. Djibril decides that Junius Seven hitting the Earth would be a shameful incident to those living on Earth and that all the Coordinators are at fault for this and that they must be exterminated, the members of Logos all agree to his decision. When Djibirl learns from Neo Roanoke that ZAFT was the cause of Junius Seven falling, and not by natural causes, he submits the evidence to the people of Earth and the Earth Alliance President. This causes the soldiers of the Earth Alliance to start another war against ZAFT. The Earth Alliance President tells the PLANTs that they will attack with nuclear missiles if the ZAFT forces do not agree to their ultimatum. However, when the nuclear attack force was send out, the PLANTs were prepared, and using the Neutron Stampeder, caused all the nuclear missiles to detonate prematurely destroying the entire nuclear attack force. Djibril was outraged by the failure.

Later in Gundam SEED Destiny, after Durandal reveals to the world that Djibril and his LOGOS organization was behind the whole war, he was forced to go into hiding. Djibril arrives at his Heaven's Base, however the ZAFT forces, are able to overcome the defenses. Djibril is able to successfully flee the base but leaves his other LOGOS members there. He flees to Orb where the Seiran's are sheltering him. He is then able to successfully launch in a shuttle to space to rendezvous with the Earth Alliance on the moon.

Djibril is able to use the Requiem, a new Earth Alliance weapon to destroy several PLANTs. However, the efforts of Shinn Asuka, Lunamaria Hawke, and Rey Za Burrel cause him to try to flee from the base. In the end, Lord Djibril is executed by Rey Za Burrel in the ZGMF-X666S Legend while trying to escape in the Girty Lue. Template:Endspoiler
