Why was Slaughtered Vomit Dolls deleted? I can't find an explanation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cchamber (talk • contribs) 11:13, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Have you asked User:Keenan Pepper, the person who deleted it? It was an uncontested PROD. Someone (else) thought the film was non-notable. No-one disagreed. Another admin (Keenan) obviously agreed and deleted it per policy. And please sign your posts. The JPStalk to me 11:14, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

One Foot in the Grave
Hello JPS, I have recently been attempting to significantly improve the One Foot in the Grave page, and I noticed that you have been involved with the page in the past. Obviously, it's relatively short at the moment, but I was wondering if there are any significant omissions that need rectifying in your opinion. Bob 23:58, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Hi Bob. Yes, I see you've been doing some work. I like how you've given the episode list its own page. I'll take a look at it sometime, though it seems to be pretty comprehensive. I agree that a couple of fair use images would be good. We should use tv-screenshot rather than the often misunderstood promophoto though. The JPStalk to me 09:35, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You didn't answer me the first time. I guess you tookm the question to be rehtoricle -- sorry, but it's not, I'm serious. What does "spurns a series of similar articles" mean? -- Jason Palpatine 04:30, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I answered the question, but you mustn't have got the chance to read it before I archived my page. See User_talk:The_JPS/archive3#Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion.2F2001:_A_Space_Odyssey_.28film_synopsis.29. The JPStalk to me 09:35, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sweetiepetie
I have reblocked. The evidence is conclusive. In the future, please discuss the block before unblocking a perm-banned user. Thanks, Mackensen (talk) 16:08, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Where is the evidence that this user has done anything wrong? Where is the discussion to block a perfectly good user? I appreciate that the alleged sock's history was not good, but if they are using thi sfor genuine edits, then all is well. The JPStalk to me 16:22, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - can you point me at somewhere that says why this user was blocked? I ask because another user has joined the EastEnders project called AnemoneProjectors. He only started contributing after the above user was banned, is suspiciously good at editing (suggesting he's edited before) and contributes to a similar set of articles (not just on EastEnders). I don't know whether he is another sockpuppet of this "JamieAdams" user, but I'd like to investigate (or someone else should)... Stephenb (Talk) 17:27, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- NB: I've asked Mackensen about this after tracking him down via your contributions list. It's probably nothing, but, well... Stephenb (Talk) 17:35, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
My alleged "personal attacks"
Hi, I noticed you have warned me on my talk page. I feel this is totally unwarrented. As you have found out, the evidence is conclusive that Sweetiepetie is a sockpuppet of JamieAdams, so I really don't see why you have decided that I deserve a warning for stressing this point and ensuring that a dangerous and damaging user isn't unblocked. Of course, we know that he is a personal friend of yours, and we can all see his glowing recomendation for you to be handed the mop. Are you sure you aren't getting your personal feelings in the way? No offence meant, I know we share the focus on the best interests of wikipedia.
- Thanks for your message. I was concerned about rhetoric such as "evil". There are a couple of labels in your above post ("dangerous and damaging") that should not be used on Wikipedia. My understanding is that the user was blocked for legal reasons. Continuing hyperbole seems hypercritical. No, I do not have any persoanl feelings. He was one of 92 others who supported my RfA. Images.
Hello, JPS. I really want to ask you something that is about image. Since yesterday, I have decided to put another picture of Cesar Chavez on the article Cesar Chavez in the article. Because I found the other picture of Cesar Chavez on the internet yesterday. But, I don't know how to put the pictures in article. What kinds of picture don't they accept? Should I provide the adress of picture in Wikipedia? I didin't decide to put any pictures in article cause it will be considered vandalism. So, Please, you must explain to me on my discussion's page, and give me some suggestions. thanks. '''*Daniel*''' 23:33, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Learning Log
The Inglehurst School is highlighted only as the source of the development of this personalised learning tool. Learning journals or thinking books have an established history and the learning logs do not represent original research but are an extension of the concept, moving away from sequential textual presentation of information to a more visually based mapping style of presentation.
The concept and usage has since spread nationally and internationally to (at least) Australia and Canada. I have removed extraneous references to the school now, leaving one only as a reference point for the development source. Some editing support would be welcomed if that was thought to be necessary to improve the entry.
In the UK Dfes are about to publish a reference guide to personalised learning which will promote the learning logs and give some prominence to this concept as it appears to them to be unique in the uk Learninglogs 19:22, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Shakirfan's return and here to stay
If you think I am going then you have another thing coming. I am not going to insult you but if my message seems harsh then good! Listen JPS I don't want to argue with you but I realise you have been hunting me ever since you noticed my first copyright violation and haven't stopped. Why do you always continously place warnings on my pages. JUST LEAVE ME ALONE. I tried to get my images deleted by placing {{db-author}} in the image page and they got deleted. What more do you want? The image File:Bipasha Basu is a SCREENSHOT of a film called No Entry in case you bothered to read the source page so a screenshot is fair use because NO ENTRY is a movie. Also when you get the time see those images in EastEnders I uploaded and see that a fair use rationale has been added to some of them. It takes a lot of time to actually find images and correct them OK. I have also noticed you are a friend of the User:Gungadin. why is she being let off for copyright violation and I don't. THERE ARE STILL IMAGES IN EASTENDERS uploaded by her that are violations and have not been tagged as violations. Also User:Trampikey has done uploading too. If you are not so busy picking on me then you can concentrate on these users more. I WILL stop uploading images of people and only upload images that are screenshots.{Shakirfan 16:18, 15 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]
- Other users' violations is not an excuse to commit violations yourself. As I have said before, please bring specific images to me if you think they need correcting.
I have not "hounded" of "picked on" you. It has been a couple of weeks since I warned you about these. I certainly don't want you to stop editing. I just want you to adhere to our policies.
The details should be on the image description page. That is your responsibility, as uploader. The JPStalk to me 18:32, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- just delete them all for all I care. And of course I have been houndeed upon. Practically every week there has been a warning. I can't be bothered to correct all my images so just delete them all then. (Shakirfan 19:50, 15 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]
- How childish! Instead of trying to be malicious to other users Shakirfan, why dont you do something constructive i.e. ask JPS what you are doing wrong and how to go about making your images acceptable for Wikipedia. I have been warned sevral times in the past for uploading unsuitable images, so I resent this accusation of favouritism. since this time I have only uplaoded screenshots, which have all ben tagged corectly because I sought help from JPS on how to do this. I suggest you do the same. By the way, if you do see any images that I uplaod which have infringed copyright, then please let me know and I will remove them. We are all just trying to improve Wikipedia and im sure that no one puposefully intends to infringe copyright and I certainly dont. Gungadin 20:06, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi...just want to be sure I follow the appropriate criteria in the quickest manner. Most of what I possess are studio prints distributed for the promotion of their various titles. Some state right on them that they are licensed for promotional use...others do not. I try to only use what would be considered integral to bringing the piece to life. Was looking for an example of the proper wording to use, but couldn't find any. Can you give me an example? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trezjr (talk • contribs)
- Hello. Well, everything needs to be verifiable. If the photograph says that it can be reproduced then I would advise that that permission also needs to be be uploaded and linked to. The JPStalk to me 12:17, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Can you give me an example of what would consitute appropriate copy?
trezjr 12:40, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Nope; the best thing you can do is upload a scan of where it says it can be reproduced, and then make a link to the two images. The JPStalk to me 12:51, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This is an example of what I am talking about. Not yet sure how can that be utilized? I'm just not sure how you want the wording. I'll look around some more?
trezjr 13:25, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- OK, if you add [[:Image:Statement.jpg]] to the image description page of the images this applies to, there's a better chance of these surviving. I think it's the closest we can get to verifiability. Rewording it or typing it yourself into wikipedia is not verifiable. The JPStalk to me 21:04, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images summaries
Thanks for your comments. Yes, I am learning and am finally finding the time and knowledge to roam around and clean up a few things. And, yes, I don't mean to be a constant "uploader", it's just that there a few projects I fell strongly about. I must admit I'm still having a hard time finding the proper text for the fair-usage; I'm looking at policy and trying to find examples, but can't see the tree for the forest.
Also, I have a problem with this EBENEZER (TV) page that was deleted on me. Can I burdon you to hear it out--I can't get to the right page to list it for comment. Is there a shortcut--a URL--or some way to get me there; I'm going around in cicles.
Thanks, again!!!

- Why? What is the comment you want to make? What do you think has been done wrong? And it's unlikely that Tony image can be used without proof that it comes from a press kit. It is not a screenshot. The JPStalk to me 23:15, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, a page was deleted. I'm accussed of lifting it from Amazon.com. Well, I wrote both pieces. They were NOT exact copies. One was an article and one was a review. In fact, the article time stamp was BEFORE the Amazon.com time stamp.
In any event, if I was contacted FIRST, I would have eliminated the Amazon.com page in order to save the page here. That's what bothers me.
Are you in a position to review this and maybe re-instate the page?
Here's a transcript of the incident:
Ebenezer (1997 TV)
I have deleted your article at Ebenezer (1997 TV) because it's a copy of http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008G8CT/102-9910219-5257721?v=glance&n=404272. Please don't copy and paste material from other locations. If you want to rewrite it in your own words, please do so. User:Zoe|(talk) 21:07, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- Whether you are the person who wrote the amazon review is of no consequence, since the amazon information is copyrighted to amazon and we cannot use it. Even if you were the person who wrote it, you did not say so anywhere and release the information under the GFDL, therefore we cannot use it. User:Zoe|(talk) 21:32, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- If you contacted me first, I could have removed the Amazon piece--and it wasn't a rip-off. If you checked the time stamps, you would have seen the article was written BEFORE the Amazon piece was posted. trezjr 21:50, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- I can remember tagging that article because the tone was clearly inappropriate. Perhaps Zoe should have tagged is as a copyright problem before deleting it. But then after she removed the 'review' she may have decided to delete it under WP:CSD A3 (as no context) -- a valid decision. Zoe was possibly a little harsh in deleting it straight away -- but I can still see and understand why it has been. I wouldn't advise taking it further because you don't have a good grasp yet of policy to argue your case propery. Also, it's just an article about a TV movie. Nothing serious. Perhaps if you were prepared to write a proper article you could do so under a correct name, such as Ebenezer (TV film)? Zoe is also correct in her comments about copyright and ownership. Like Wikipedia, once you submit your text to a site, you lose ownership. The JPStalk to me 09:08, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Additionally, before taking it to requests for comment (which is inflicting work upon a lot of other wikipedians), it is usually best to persue the issue with the relevant parties (i.e. Zoe). RFC is usually a last resort when communication has broken down. I notice there were only a couple of exchanges between Zoe and yourself -- why did you decide to leave teh conversation and involve Feydey and myself? Zoe doesn't bite, you know -- I'm sure she'd happily answer your questions. The JPStalk to me 09:15, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for answering; I get so frustrated when people write things off--"It was only a TV movie." It must have meant something to somebody to produce the thing. What frustrates me more is that I did try to comply. The piece was almost entirely rewritten when its npov was questioned.
One of the main strengths that attracted me to Wikipedia when doing searches on the internet was its ability to provide information on what could best be described as obscure or hard-to-locate topics/subjects that could not be found anywhere else on the internet. The ability to constantly revise and include new information in a collaborative method can grow a topic here to a wealth of information.
Anyway, you've been most patient and kind with me so far (except when I make the same mistake twice!!!) and this has been my first of what can best be described as a bad experience.
I questioned Zoe about this (see above), but never did receive a reply. As I have a tendency to make matters worse, I didn't want to confront Zoe more and just make matters worse. All I'd like to do is see the page restored.
If you were to go back and look at it when it was pulled, I think you would find it perfectly acceptable--all I would have to do is go and pull the Amazon.com piece if that's what it takes.
Thanks again!

SOURCE
Can you define source? If I own a movie still (you said "collection" is irrelevant) what is the source? Also, I thought you frowned on material downloaded from the internet. Thanks.
trezjr 23:20, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Something scneed in is the same as uploading stuff from theinterenet. It's worse, in fact, as we can't verify the source or the copyright status. I assume that when you say "own", you actually mean "possess"? How is anyone supposed to verify the status or source of something that's sitting in your home? The JPStalk to me 08:59, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Oh, and "Source: I made it myself." is certainly not good enough when you didn't. Unless you directed the video. Do not upload that image unless you are prepared to tell us the source. Which music video??? I'm sure I've already explained taht on the image page. The JPStalk to me 09:19, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- This is not a screenshot. It is a still -- and it does not have a source.
- As such, doesn't it then fit the description as a "title card" and I cannot find a single movie photo (say, like on the Harry Potter pages) that lists a "source".
- trezjr 23:39, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Nope - a title card is just that. It is usually characterised by featuring the film's title. Hence "title card". The JPStalk to me 08:59, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- trezjr 23:39, 2 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think I'm following you a bit better here--your fine line between such things as still and screenshot through me off.
It's source that's confusing me. "Source: I made it myself." This I found on one of the Wiki pages. I didn't make that up. It's meant to say made the still, not the video. If you wanted to continue it to the finest level--which video, etc. I can do that.
I hope I'm making progress here.
trezjr 13:03, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'll have try and find it again, but this was all based on another site I saw and used as an example. Everything I've done I've try to base on examples I've seen on the site; I haven't attempted to "try" anything new here.

Problem with 3RR
Hi, JPS - there is a little bit of a problem over at Jeremy Clarkson. An IP address is repeatedly adding the same POV comment, and is being reverted each time by numerous editors. It has been requested several times that the user discuss this change on the talk page, as it is clearly controversial, but it is simply re-added each time. A few warnings were added to one of the user's talk pages, but the IP seems to keep changing, as well as appearing with two different user accounts, although they are presumably the same person. Several editors have expressed concern about breaching the 3 revert rule. I was wondering what should be done. Thanks in advance. Bob 15:26, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Hello again, thanks for your response last time, although unfortunately the same IP is still adding the same paragraph to the biography section, despite his quotation being integrated in the correct section. Is there a warning suitable to ask the IP to stop? Thanks. Bob 09:54, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- You can use {{3RR}} or the more severe {{3RR4|Jeremy Clarkson}} (I've left the former) on the user's talk page. You can also report it to 3RR The JPStalk to me 11:07, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is very odd that the reference to Jeremy's Sunday Times article of July 2nd keeps being removed. In the section called 'FOREIGNERS' the paragraph leads ignorant encyclopedia readers to believe that YOU HAVE TO SHOW A PASSPORT to buy a drink in the USA and that MACHINE GUNS are legal. What is wrong with you people? How can you accuse direct quotes of being POV and then LIE to and MISLEAD people about what's going on in America? What kind of political agenda is that? What you're doing is 100 times worse then POV. The paragraph was DIRECT pastes from Jeremy's article. Seems you are willing to LIE about the USA but you call direct quotes POV. I'm so confused. I think that more people need to monitor this page because you people are blowing it. Your political agenda seems to thrive on mis-information and then when you're found out you hide, cover up and smirk. It must be dire.
BOB suggests that 'my quotation' is listed in the FOREIGNER section. sorry BOB. that's the MIS-INFORMATION that the Sunday Times printed. not my work. As I say. It must be dire to be so afraid of the truth that you'd go to such lengths. Have you people no shame at all?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.29.119.39 (talk • contribs) 22:33, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I'd be very interested to know what you think my political agenda is. It seems that you're the one who is using Wikipedia to make a political point. The JPStalk to me 21:35, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Your political agenda is to spread hate, mis-information and confusion about the USA. This is why you leave the quote "you even need a passport to buy a drink. But interestingly you don't need one if you wish to rent some guns and some bullets." and then remove the part that says "In Actuality, you do not need a passport to buy a drink in the USA and "Machine Guns" have never been legal." Your political agenda is extremely evident and obvious. Anyone who would call DIRECT PASTES "POV" and then remove the section that clarifies TRUTH, has a political agenda. Shame on you! I have written to Wikipedia and told them as much as I could.
- Interesting!! And here's me thinking I was blocking you for violating our 3RR policy and not discussing changes on the page. Have you ever thought that the selection of quotes is subjective? The JPStalk to me 22:00, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Your sarcasm is a window on your soul. I answered your question with no sarcasm and you ignored it. It says a lot about you and your character and now I am convinced that you are using your position at Wikipedia to further your own political agenda whatever that is. You have removed the truth and left the misleading parts. THE TRUTH DOESN'T HURT ME. Seems to sting on your end.
ALSO: in the FOREGNER section, someone kindly changed Jeremy's quote of MACHINE GUNS to guns... the evidence of political editing and manipulation is overwhelming. I think I could get a LOT of people interested in this.
- So it's OK to use Wikipedia to further a political agenda so long as it's yours? The JPStalk to me 22:13, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What is my political agenda? To make sure that people know that what Jeremy said is untrue. The guys who you are siding with have even edited Jeremy's own words.
When one person makes up lies about a country he has a political agenda. When another person tries to make sure that the lies are not displayed or presented as truth AS YOU ARE ALLOWING, their agenda is to see that truth is achieved.
You are backing the liar. You are upholding misquotes.
I can assure you that I have a lot of free time in my hands and I will see this page corrected.
Your anti-American blindness and hate will get you nowhere. The truth has no strings.
I have pointed out to you with ABUNDANT CLARITY how you and the guys that you have sided with are using WIKIPEDIA for your own agenda and all you can come up with is, "NO YOU ARE"... classic table turning. I had a teenage girlfriend in the 80s that was similar.
The JPS... are you for real? This conversation you've had looks a bit odd. Do you work for the BBC or the Times by any chance? I've never seen such awful tampering. An administrative vandal, you are. You have added insult to injury by including the quote from the article that upset so many people without mentioning that Jeremy lied. So NOW the page is misleading. It's unbelieveable! We have been pasting/updating the page with EXACT quotes from Jeremy and you call it BIASED, POV and CONTROVERSIAL and then paste Jeremy's lie without clarifying that he is incorrect. Do you work for AlQaeda theJPS? What is wrong with you people. It's more of a shrine for Jeremy Clarkson than anything else with crooked people posting MISINFORMATION and then locking the page! The page says that Jeremy's show, TOP GEAR has 350,000,000 viewers... are you jokers for real? OPRAH has 100MILLION... Jeremy has 3 and a half times as many viewers as Oprah? You people need to be stopped! Jeremy's xenophobic name calling and silly comments about certain nationalities are funny and fine, but when he lies about LAWS within a particular country you should not present in such an ambiguous fashion. This is a totally different game. The page is now full of you know what and you've locked it. Weasel! All we can do is complain about you. You have CLEARLY displayed BLIND support for the lies within this page by supporting the 'editors' who pursue them. You SIR, are a thug! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Repmart (talk • contribs) 15:03, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This TheJPS is a complete weasel. I'm the one that was having the 'discussion' with him. It was like talking to a 14 year old girl. How do they find these 'administrators'? Incredible arrogance. Yep, so now the page says that you can't buy a drink in the USA without a PASSPORT etc... these guys are weird. The 3RR rule that they have used to lock the page with the mis-information intact, should have been used against them as they were the ones that kept the page in a state of NONSENSICAL LIMBO whilst our ACTUAL JC quotes/pasttes were being removed and referred to as "point of view", "controversial" and "biased"... haha... can you imagine using those three phrases with a straight face to describe DIRECT PASTES and QUOTES. These people are strange... can't they be stopped? Is that it? You become an administrator and just put what you want on pages and then lock them? That's not what Wikipedia is about surely. This guy is a rea; weasel. Everytime he'd ask a question I would answer it with extreme precision and short, concise answers and then he'd go "uhhh... no that's what you do."... and "oh... so it's ok when you do it". The guys who are truly vandalised the page called us "A STUPID TWAT" (check the discussion)before we had even made our first comment. Shows the calibre of brainiac that we're dealing with! They were determined to cover Jeremy up so they went after a limp anti-west administrator and got it locked up... when the administrators are vandalising pages.. well.,.. I guess Wikipedia has died...

- Your article was deleted because the subject is not notable enough for Wikipedia. I'm sure it is a very fine company and is appreciated by all those who view its productions. Importantly, please sign your posts with ~~~~ Your post looked like it was written by me. The JPStalk to me 23:08, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What's your opinion on adding images to EastEnders? -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 21:42, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- There is a lot of text, but at the moment I don't see how an image can improve the understanding of the subject (which is what a fair use image should do). Yes, I know there's probably an understandable desire to break up the monotony of the text... Unless you can find fair use images of Julia Smith etc. The JPStalk to me 22:40, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
