Jamie Thomas
Jamie Thomas is a professional skateboarder from Dothan, Alabama. He was born on October 11 1974. He started skateboarding at the age of eleven. Currently, he is the only person (skateboarder or otherwise) to have attempted the nearly two-story high "Leap of Faith" at Point Loma High School without breaking a bone. His skateboarding stance is regular.
He is sponsored by Zero Skateboards, Fallen Footwear, and Thunder Trucks.
Thomas started Zero Skateboards in 1996 and assembled a team of young "up and comers". Zero is now internationally recognized amongst skaters and is one of the biggest skateboarding companies around today. The first Zero video 'Thrill Of It All' featured his infamous attempt at the Leap Of Faith; a fifteen foot drop over a handrail at a high school in San Diego, California. Although his board snapped immediately upon impact, Jamie walked away more or less unscathed after his attempt. Other skateboarders known to have attempted the Leap Of Faith include Sam Davis - breaking both his legs badly in the process - and Moses Itkonen who broke one leg.
He ultimately wished to have tried the Leap of Faith again, but remodeling at the high school sometime in 2002 rendered the spot unskateable.
