Five O'Clock Shadows is the 35th episode of The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. It first aired on October 22, 2004 on Cartoon Network.

Template:Spoiler Billy sees his shadow and is curious to know where it comes from, so he asks Grim. Grim takes Billy and Mandy to the Shadow World, where their shadows emerge as semi-clones. Billy's shadow is even stupider (he barks like a seal) and wears a helmet. Mandy's shadow, however, is her polar opposite, as she is happy, cheerful and has a collection of stuffed unicorns, which she feeds with "magic oats" (mustard). Billy and his shadow head off into a unknown world, where they break a door, unleashing many, many Billys from all parallel dimensions into the Shadow world. Meanwhile, Mandy becomes fed up with her shadow's cheerfulness. She begins to toughen up her shadow, in the end, turning her into an exact clone of Mandy. Elsewhere, Billy, Shadow Billy and the many other Billys begin to wreak havoc in town. When it's time to leave the Shadow World, Grim finds himself confounded by the two exact Mandys, but he loses his mind with the many Billys that enter the house. In the end, they return home, each and every one of them.

Trivia and Notes

  • We hear Shadow Mandy call two unicorns by name: Senior Gomez and Chocolate Sprinkles Royal.
  • Of all the Billy clones, only one is giant.
  • Richard Nixon's five o'clock shadow may have cost him the presidency in 1960.
  • When Billy, Mandy and their respective shadows say to Grim "You're going to play with us forever, and ever, and ever, and ever...", it's a reference to the movie The Shining, when the kid Danny meets two ghost girls.
