The specality of Car (Chariot) is, it is the world second largest!!! Before the year of 1981, The world largest Car was there in Thiruvarur, but unfortunately, it has set ablaze by riots. Besides the Sri Tyagaraja temple, there are more acient temple in and around of Thiruvarur. Which included, 'Ettukudi, Enkkan, Sikkal..'

The temple is amazingly sculptred and artistically well built. There is a pond in front of West entarance of the temple. It is considired as a Holy water body. There is a temple at the mid of the pond, where it has its own interesting histroy of about a godess waited for the god 'Sri Tyagaraja' the another form of 'Lord Shiva', to get married. Every year after the Car Festival, there will another festival to worship this godess. It is famously called as 'Theppam'. Which just mean, a big boat built with bamboos and wood to pass thourogh the water to reach the Temple in the mid of the Pond.

The main occupation of these aeras use to be Agriculture.
