Thor Vilhjálmsson (IPA: [ˈtʰouːr ˈvɪlçaulmˌsɔn]) (born August 12, 1925, Edinburgh, Scotland) is one of Iceland's most important writers. He has written novels, plays, poetry, and translations. In 1988 he won the Nordic Council Literature Prize for his novel Grámosinn glóir.
