Synopsis

Template:Spoiler Mumtaz (Tabu) is a village girl who moves to Mumbai with her uncle. Desperate for money her uncle persuades her to become a bar girl at Chandini Bar, he promises to make her leave when he finds a job. Her first day does not go well but she eventually becomes the star of the stage. Her uncle uses the money she earns to drink. Eventually whilst drunk he rapes Mumtaz.

By this time she has caught the eye of a gangster called Potiya Sawant (Atul Kulkarni). He finds out what her uncle did to her and shoots him and they get married. Mumtaz leaves Chandini Bar to begin her new life. Mumtaz is determined that her children stay far away from the world of prostitution and guns. Her gangster husband is killed whilst handling a dodgy deal and she reluctantly goes back to Chandini Bar as she has to raise her two children. Her son, Abhay (Vishal Thakkar) gets arrested for extortion and is sent to jail. He is raped by his cellmates. Her daughter, Payal (Minakshi Sahani) becomes a bar dancer to earn extra money for the household.

When her son comes back he has changed dramatically. He ends up killing the two men who raped him in prison. Mumtaz realises that she can not save her children from hers and her husbands past. Template:Endspoiler
