Baroque Hoedown
Baroque Hoedown was created by electronic music artists Perrey and Kingsley. It is the theme song for Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade and the original Electrical Water Pageant theme song. It was also incorporated into Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: DreamLights and the finale of Light Magic as a gesture to the Main Street Electrical Parade.
In a documentary called "From One Lightbulb To Another", Perrey talks about Disney using his song in the parade (text from subtitle): "In the 1970s, Walt Disney Productions chose this tune to be the theme for the Electrical Parade. It was extraodinary, I didn't know about it because the publishers said nothing to me. It was by chance, in 1980, that I went there and was so surprised to hear Baroque Hoedown arranged for a full orchestra."
The Baroque Hoedown melody is used in many songs, including "Main Street Electrical Parade (Retro Future Mix)" from the Dance Dance Revolution Disney Rave game, "The Theme from Rock to the Future" and "starship.6" by Plus-Tech Squeeze Box, "Baroque Hoedown" by They Might Be Giants, and a version of the song by the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.
