Petrie is a pterosaur, and is also called a flyer, (a Pteranodon to be exact) and is the third friend of Littlefoot in The Land Before Time film series.

Petrie has a family, which are a mom (voiced by Tress MacNeille), a bunch of brothers and sisters, and his Uncle Pterono (voiced by Michael York), which made his first appearance in The Land Before Time VII: The Stone of Cold Fire. Pterono has evil devil-like sidekicks like, Rinkus (voiced by Rob Paulsen), a Rhamphorhynchus and Sierra (voiced by Jim Cummings), a Cierradactyl. Pterono's second appearance was thought to be in The Land Before Time XII: The Day of The Flyers but Aria said this was not the case.
