- May 6, 2492: Belgian astronomer Jean Meeus asserts that the orbits of all nine planets will be within the same 90° arc of the solar system. The last time this is believed to have occurred was on 1 February, 949. [1]

Science fiction set in the 25th century
- In the Futurama episode entitled When Aliens Attack when the crew finds out the only reason why the aliens are attacking Earth is because they wanted to see a televison show in 1999 that was cut off when Fry spilled soda on the Fox transmisson board 1000 years earlier (which he kept secret from everyone in the future) Amy suggested that they just get another taping of the show, but the professor said that was impossible as all videotapes were destroyed in 2440 in the second coming of Jesus
- The Video Game series Star Fox is set in the 25th century.
- Buck Rogers (c. 2419 - original; 2491 - 1970s TV series)
- 2490: In the Halo universe the UNSC's fledging Interstellar Empire had expanded to between 800 to 1000 planets throughout the Orion Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. During this period, the planet Reach becomes one of the two headquarters of the UNSC military and government (the other was Earth itself), and is destined to become the most heavily fortified world under human control and the Inner Colonies became the heart of the United Nations Imperial Government. In addition, there were Brushfire Wars in the Outer Colonies in which Rebel Insurrections including the one at the Eridanus System led by Colonel Robert Watts were suppressed.
- The computer game StarCraft is said to begin on December 12, 2499 (and may cross over into the early 26th century)
- Jason X (although it begins in an early year of the 21st Century, most of the film is set in the year 2455)
- The computer games TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect take place mainly in 2401.
- All of the characters from the television series Firefly and feature film Serenity are born in the latter part of the 25th century.
- In the series Magnus, Robot Fighter, by Russ Manning, in 2500 a robotic repair ship crashes on a planet around the star Malev and suffers severe damage. This leads to the creation of Malev-6, a malevolent computer that fills the entire planet.
