WrestleMania X-Seven was the seventeenth annual WrestleMania professional wrestling pay-per-view produced by the World Wrestling Federation. It took place on April 1, 2001 at the Reliant Astrodome in Houston, Texas. The event is the highest grossing live event in the company's history and the highest grossing professional wrestling pay-per-view ever. A record-breaking attendance for the Reliant Astrodome of 67,925 resulted in gross receipts of $3.5 million.
WrestleMania X-Seven is considered by some as the end of the Attitude Era for the World Wrestling Federation and the peak of the professional wrestling boom. The tagline for WrestleMania X-Seven was Houston...We Have A Problem. The theme song for WrestleMania X-Seven was "My Way" by Limp Bizkit.
The commentators for the event were Jim Ross and Paul Heyman. The guest commentators for the Gimmick Battle Royal were "Mean" Gene Okerlund and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. The Spanish commentators were Carlos Cabrera and Hugo Savinovich. Howard Finkel did the ring annoucing for the bouts.
