The ArmaLite AR-50 is an innovative, single shot bolt action rifle bearing a unique octagonal receiver bedded into an aluminum stock. It is equipped with a modified M16 type vertical pistol grip and a removable buttstock for ease of transport. The AR-50 uses the .50 BMG ammunition used by the U.S. military's M2 machine gun. The gun's overall length is 59.5 inches (151 cm) and weighs roughly 34 pounds (15.5 kg). It is used as an Anti-materiel rifle.
