Loughborough College is a college of Further Education in the United Kingdom. It is located opposite Loughborough University on Epinal Way, and adjacent to the Loughborough University School of Art and Design, situated next to the main entrance of the college. The RNIB College is located alongside on Radmoor Road.

Profile

The College has 17 subject areas, split between academic and vocational, and full and part-time courses. Education is provided at the further, and in some cases, higher education level, with GCSE qualifications in English and Mathematics also available. Also available are apprenticeships, a variety of "access" courses aimed at those who seek educational progression, but through "non-traditional" paths, and "foundation" courses providing skills targeted at those starting work or beginning to live independently.

There are approximately 8,000 students, split between 3,000 on academic courses and the remainder (5,000) on vocational and other courses. The College has an extensive campus, unusual amongst British colleges as it provides Halls of Residence on site, normally attributed only to university "level" and above, and its students are members of the same Union as those studying at the University and RNIB College.

Facilities provided on site include the Loughborough Sports Centre, Students Union Shop, a Cafeteria, the Radmoor Restaurant, the Elite Hair Beauty and Complementay Therapies salon and a branch of Experience Travel. Other facilities (such as the Students Union building) are available at the nearby Students Union, although a catered Students Union Common Room is provided within the main college building.

Support services provided include support for students with learning difficulties or disabilities, accommodation in a variety of Halls of Residence, most with in-room network connections and some with en-suite facilities, and a team of persons employed to provide advice concerning student welfare, finance, etc, a student liaison and enrichment team, counselling service and a day nursery.

There is an extensive "Learning Resources Centre" (library) provided, and the college has significant numbers of networked computers, and has invested heavily in additional tools and equipment such as touch-screen "presentation" white boards in lecture and practical teaching rooms.
