The following is a list of major clans('gotras'/'gots') of the Jat/Jatt caste of Northern India and Pakistan listed in alphabetical order. Note: Patel cannot be considered a gotra. It is a title/surname that many different kinds of people have, and there are a number of people who use Patel as their surname in India as personal choice. It does not reflect ancestry or caste and therefore it cannot be considered a gotra.
