Sylvia Striplin is an American jazz and R&B vocalist. Striplin has worked with funk, jazz, and soul, vibraphonist Roy Ayers, who helped her release her 1980 single "You Can't Turn Me Away" on the Uno Melodic record label. This song later appeared on the breakbeat compilation "Ultimate Breaks and Beats", is regarded as a soul classic, and has been sampled numerous times by hip hop artists to create new musical compositions.
