Mike Fisher (born June 5, 1980) is an ice hockey centre playing with the Ottawa Senators of the NHL. He was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario and played junior hockey there, and then with the Sudbury Wolves in the OHL. He was drafted 44 overall in the second round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft by the Senators.
Fisher is known for his aggressive play, but he has also shown a great deal of speed and skill. His career has been plagued with injuries calling into question his overall potential. During the lockout-year, he plays for the EV Zug in Switzerland and was a very important player there.
In 2005-2006, Fisher had a career year, setting new personal bests in goals (22), assists (22), points (44), +/- (+23), penalty minutes (64), shots on goal (149) and shooting percentage (14.09%) in just 67 games, helping the Senators clinch the Eastern Conference regular season championship and was a nominee for the Frank J. Selke Trophy to Rod Brind'Amour.
Trivia
