  • 8 p.m. PDT (0300 UTC, July 12) - Tropical Depression Four-E forms 240 miles (390 km) south-southwest of Zihuatanejo.

  • 2 a.m. PDT (0900 UTC) - Hurricane Bud is upgraded to Category 2 intensity.
  • 2 a.m. PDT (0900 UTC) - Tropical Depression Four-E strengthens into Tropical Storm Carlotta.
