Boston University School of Theology (BUST) is an American seminary formed in 1871 by the absorption into Boston University of the Boston Theological Institute.[1]

BUST's origins are in the founding of The Seminary (or, The Methodist Theological School) at Newbury, Vermont and Concord, New Hampshire. The school moved to Boston in 1867 as the Boston Theological Seminary, becoming Boston University in 1869. The Seminary, the oldest Methodist Seminary in the USA, would become Boston University School of Theology.[2]. BU School of Theology has many prominent alumnae including almost every president of methodist institutions such as DePauw University [3] and social visionaries such as Martin Luther King.

BUST is a member of the Boston Theological Institute consortium.
