Except in cases of vandalbot or other rapid-fire attacks, please warn users and wait for further vandalism before listing them here. Do not list non-vandalism.

Please list the IP address or user name, pages touched and damage done. Sign your name using ~~~~ after your report. Put the person's IP or username in the edit summary.

Ongoing alerts

This section lists users or IP addresses that are not necessarily vandalising right now, but have vandalised in the past, and to whom special circumstances apply.

  • This IP address comes from a public terminal. Please monitor it. [[User:Neutrality|Neutrality (hopefully!)]] 17:43, Oct 17, 2004 (UTC)
  • It's actually an AOL proxy: cache-rtc-ad05.proxy.aol.com (152.163.100.199) -- The Anome 18:14, 18 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • This IP address belongs to an Australian ISP's cache server; users of the ISP have reported having edits run through this server. A lot of vandalism has been let through, but it cannot be permanently blocked on the basis that it is an ISP's server (in a similar fashion to AOL's proxy servers). Please monitor this IP. -- Grunt 🇪🇺 22:06, 2004 Sep 30 (UTC)

Hemanshu

  • Rogue user of abt 1 yr's tenure & K's of edits (and admin but not known to me to abuse admin-specific powers).
  • Note that User:Ardonik seems to report counseling him on IRC (AFAIK), & partially reverted him (Lea thru Moz), 1 month ago in response to my listing him here for systematically killing many hdgs per page within LoPbN.
  • See:
  • my unanswered appeal in last 12 to repair his status as colleague on LoPbN before working further on its structure,
  • our whole near-monologue on headings, and
  • as context, my and Angela's totally unsuccessful attempts 10 months ago to get him to discuss his early blundering damage to this complex data structure.
  • He
  • went thru the alphabet, a month ago, in a 6-hour marathon of editing nothing else (with one 35-minute break from editing and maybe a couple of 8 minute breaks), continuing to destroy hdgs for at least 54 minutes after Ardonik reported to me that they were IRCing;
  • seemed to be forgoing anything beyond sporadic removals of one or a few pages at one sitting for several weeks;
  • spent 3 hrs. 8 min. ending near 18:00 (UTC) yesterday removing on Ab thru Her
  • spent 2 hrs. 25 min. near noon (UTC) today doing likewise on Her thru Miz; these included what are, AFAIK, his first destruction of structure that Ardonik had restored by reverting his; but in one such (i.e., Ardonik-involved) case among my spot-checks, whereas he changed the number of headings, the first time, from 33 to 27 (reduced by 6), this time he changed the identical file's headings from 33 to 14 in number (total reduction by 16 -- more than by half (58%)).
  • has resumed since i started composing this, but i haven't time to inspect, or for that matter ensure that i copied all my links right.
  • Comment: User has a history of making edits of mass destruction and ignoring all comments on his talk page to stop. A few months ago, I had to clean up the utter mess he had created by plugging random categories on random articles—literally hundreds of redundant and uselessly subdivided categories had to be edited off of articles and listed for deletion. Many of these were duplicates of heavily populated categories that could have easily been found with minimal effort, and the useless ones included a category specifically for cities in one texas county that only had one city, period. See his talk page for the repeated attempts[1] I made to get him to think about what he was doing—he never posted a response to any of them. I'm disappointed to see that he has continued failing to respond to the wikipedia community and has persisted in making reckless edits. A lengthy ban at the very least may be in order. 24.69.255.205

  • Has been messing with British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia, Alberta, ICI programming language, Shell script, Fashion, etc. Typically adds a link to one or more vanity or commercial web sites. Sometimes mislabels the offending external link to hide its nature. These links have been removed multiple times by several different users with explanations of "vanity" and "irrelevant commercial link", yet 24.69.255.205 adds them again. 24.69.255.205 is also responsible for a blatant advertisement entry at Preest which is currently under VFD. To be fair, 24.69.255.205 also appears responsible for some legitimate articles and edits amongst the recurring theme of vandalism. IP address originates from Shaw Cable (Canada) and may be dynamic, but user has Wikipedia history for approximately 6 months at that address. --Ds13 00:20, 21 Oct 2004 (UTC)

210.54.53.14

  • Has been messing with New Zealand, China, Tumbleweed etc. Typically replaces whole page with one nonsense sentence or inserts a nonsense phrase somewhere. All the edits I checked from this address have been vandalism. I didn't check every single one though. In my opinion a candidate for blocking. --Thorsten Loehndorf

      • Could you point out the exact material that is false? It could be a good-faith edit that's badly researched, in which case a warning will most likely suffice. - Ta bu shi da yu 02:36, 20 Oct 2004 (UTC)
        • The user has, on different occasions, claimed that there existed a separate British version, with separate (Cockney-like) titles, and with Daniel Radcliffe and Halle Berry, of all people, performing some of the lesser roles. The user has also claimed that there was a new series regular appearing after the seventh Pokémon movie (not true), and claimed that Pokémon appeared on PBS (unlikely given the educational programming on PBS), and also had English (and "British") episode titles for an 8th season (Advanced Challenge, the latest English incarnation, is currently the seventh season). At one point, this user tried to create an article full of this false information, which has since been speedily deleted. kelvSYC 03:36, 20 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Get over yourself, this isn't vandalism... keep in mind that most of his spelling changes have been to European articles, where I would imagine that British spelling is preferred. Whatever the protocol is for American/British spelling on european articles, he seems to be acting in good faith. StuartH 12:15, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • I agree, it's not vandalism, but he should show constraint. Editing for British Spelling over American for European articles is reasonable. However, he's also an advocate of moving articles, (He's advocated Tire and Harbor, but not done a move), which is generally more destructiv. But this is nothing that we can't discuss with the user. -- Kaszeta 13:22, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC)

To all Wikipedia Editors, leave this site alone. It should not be voted for deletion just because she did not get famous. Have you all forgotten about the 1st Amendment. Free Speech includes written speech. To many of you that say you respect other's people Point-of-View. I do not believe many of you, since this statement is overused and has no real meaning. If you all vote for its deletion then you are just as terrible as Al Qaida and the Taliban. I will say you are all DIP-DIP's. You figure out the meaning, fargin, cork sucking iceholes, and bastages.

  • Extreme coincidence leads me to believe that this proxy may be in cahoots with the B-Movie Bandit. Soon after an article on Gina Tognoni appeared, so too did an substub via this proxy about Miss Rhode Island Teen and Ms. Tognoni's having won the pageant in 1992. Attempts to redirect to the beauty pageant article have been vigorously and quickly reverted, so I've left a number of polite words on the talk page and have even added to the article myself. So, what should appear not two minutes after my last edit than a new article on Gina Tognoni by the B-Movie Bandit himself after the original had been speedy deleted earlier today. I smell rodent. - Lucky 6.9 01:51, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Reithy

  • See also Talk:Michael Badnarik. Reithy was responsible for firing the first shot in the current edit war, and I'm confident that as soon as the page is unprotected he will continue to insert his anti-libertarian POV. Rhobite 00:22, Oct 12, 2004 (UTC)
  • This is beyond inserting POV. He is vandalizing user pages (e.g., User:Pstudier) and inserting random flippant statements into articles (e.g., "The Libertarian Party was formed in the home of Richard Nixon on 11 December 1971" and "The Libertarian Party is a United States political party created in 1971 in the home of Pablo Escobar").Simoes 21:30, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • "Contributions" are highschool student jokes. The first ones were easy to spot (replacing "Constantinople" by "Buddhala" in Istambul entry), writing an article locating some mystical Buddhist location in the Bahamas ; now tries to write total bullshit sounding real (see at Buddhala). Not at its first appearance here according to his contribs history. --French Tourist 19:03, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)

The overwritten text IS seemingly correct and accurate, but no attempt is made to integrate with existing articles or collaborate with anyone else. My suspicion is that the text is cut and pasted from somewhere, and they may indeed be violations of copyright.
