Devon Corporation
The Devon Corporation is a fictional company in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire versions. It is very similar to Silph Co. from Kanto & Johto, but is the Hoenn equivilant. They have headquarters in Rustboro City. They are also rumoured to run the Pokémarts in Hoenn.
In the Games
In the games, Devon Corp. is chaired by Mr. Stone. It plays an important role in the games, allowing the player to recieve certain important items and revive fossils into Pokémon. The Devon Corp. headquartes are the target for robbery by Team Aqua & Team Magma. If the player stops the crimes, they will be rewarded with a Luxury Ball, which is a specialized Pokéball. Afterwards, Mr. Stone will ask the player to deliver a letter to his son Steven. He will reward you with a Pokénav. After helping the company multiple times, the player is awarded the oppertunity to explore the Devon Corporation's HQ, where there is a scientist who will revive fossils for the player. The Devon Corp. is a very major plot device in the games, as it introduces the antagonist in the games, Team Aqua/Magma. It also introduces the character to Steven, the Champion of the Elite Four in Ruby/Saphire and the giver of much useful advice and many needed items, such as the Devon Scope. It also allows the character to complete their Pokédex by reviving fossils. Also, without the Pokénav, the player wouldn't be able to instantly tell which trainers are ready for a rematch, which adds to the games replayability, and the player would not have a map.
In the Animé
In the Pokémon Anime, Devon Corp.'s headquarters are visited by Ash and the gang. In the episode, Max obtains the Pokénav. The episode also introduces the new antagonists, Team Aqua, who almost destroy the world later on. [1]
