A logic board is the Apple Macintosh equivalent of a motherboard. At one point in time it was distinct in meaning from a motherboard in that it had all computer logic soldered on, as opposed to connected through expansion slots. However, this distinction is no longer valid with modern Apple hardware; "logic board" should now be taken simply as Apple Computer's in-house term for Motherboard (the terms are frequently used interchangeably in Apple literature).
