Billy and Mandy are watching an action show titled The X-treme Adventures of Brandon and Mallory. It features two kids named Brandon and Mallory who go on extreme adventures with a monkey butler Dickie Galoot. Billy wants a butler monkey like Dickie, so Grim brings Dickie from the TV with his scythe. It turns out that Dickie can perform the chores better than Grim can, and he doesn't complain or is lazy. Grim decides to break up his friendship with Billy and Mandy and leave, but for a mysterious reason, he ends up on the other side of the room. He tries again and gets the same result. Then, the scythe transports him to the Underworld where his lawyer,( speaking in a style of Christopher Walken) explains that he can't leave Billy and Mandy because he would then break the bet and would have to go to the Underworld Jail. Grim returns to Billy's house where he realises that Dickie can talk. Dickie told him that he will not return to Brandon and Mallory because he is tired of the adventures and would rather work for Billy and Mandy. They challenge each other to a cleaning contest, and whoever loses has to leave forever. Grim wins the contest and zaps the TV again. Brandon and Mallory find Dickie and return him to the television. In the end, Mandy tells Grim that it was all just a set-up to make him do the chores without being asked.

At the Endsville Elementary School Carnival, Irwin tries to hit a target so that Grim can fall into the water full of electric eels. He misses most of the time, so Irwin's Grandmama takes over and hits the target many times and Grim falls. Grim decides to make the game more challenging using his scythe. When Grandmama throws the ball again, Grim tries to destroy the ball with his scythe, but he misses. He accidentally zaps Principal Goodvibes, transforming him into hip hop gangster rapper, "Goodbling" and a nearby Hippo into the "Hip-Hop-Opotomus" (or H20). Goodbling transformed the school into a hip-hop version of itself. Grim says that the only way they can beat Goodbling and turn him back into Goodvibes, is to be more into Hip-Hop than he is.Grim tries to reason with Goodbling but gets shot down by a "Yo Mama" insult. In the end, Irwin's Grandmama eventually challenges Goodbling to a "Yo Mama" contest. She beats him, turning Principal Goodvibes, the hippo and the school back to normal.

Trivia

  • Grim's lawyer's name is Harvey, referencing to Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.
  • In Hurtet Monkey, Grim's line "come out and pla-ayyyyy" echoes a similar battle cry from the 1979 cult classic The Warriors.
  • Brandon and Mallory bear a striking resemblance to Billy and Mandy in the teenage years and drawn in anime style. The X-treme Adventures of Brandon and Mallory is a self-reference to the show's title, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy'.
  • A hip-hop showdown in Goodbling and Hip-Hop-Opatamus is a parody the MTV show Yo Mamma.
  • Dracula makes a cameo in Goodbling and Hip-Hop-Opatamus; when Irwin's grandmother raps "Yo mama so ugly, even Dracula won't drink her blood". Dracula replies, saying "Dracula wouldn't touch her with Wolfman's teeth!".

  • H2O can talk, but all he says is "word".
  • In the previous episodes, Principal Goodvibes appears to live in the car, but in Goodbling and the Hip-Hop-Opotamus, he is shown in a flashback living in an apartment.
  • Goodbling commonly misprounces hip-hop slang(ex. Goodbling says ,"Ya Heared" when its supposed to be "Ya Heard".)
  • Goodbling's "Microphone check one two, what is this?" is possibly a reference to the opening line from A Tribe Called Quest's "Buggin' Out".
