New Radicals was a band that was at the height of its popularity in 1998. The band only released one album Maybe You've Been Brainwashed, Too, but was able to produce 2 commercially successful songs from it: "You Get What You Give" and "Someday We'll Know".

The band was disbanded by Gregg Alexander, the lead singer. This move seemed unorthodox to radio DJs since the band seemed to have a great future ahead of them following the success of their debut album. Reasons for disbanding New Radicals are unknown, but rumors have been circulating from threats from other musicians, the band's questionable ability to perform, to just a whimsical action. The prevalent theory among fans is that Alexander wanted to focus on producing music for other artists. Since the New Radicals disbanded, Gregg Alexander has found success producing for artists such as Enrique Iglesias, Rod Stewart, fellow ex-New Radicals member Danielle Brisebois, and notably, Santana, who has won a Grammy Award for the Alexander-produced "The Game Of Love" in 2002.

Late-night talk-show host Craig Kilborn has been a champion of the New Radicals, featuring their music in segments of the show.

The band's hit songs have been featured in several commercials (e.g. trailer to the 2001 film Bubble Boy) and covered by Mandy Moore on the soundtrack to her 2002 film A Walk to Remember.
