The French Narrator is a fictional character in the Nickelodeon television cartoon series, Spongebob Squarepants, which first aired in July 1999. The French Narrator speaks at the start of some episodes of Spongebob Squarepants and does this with a heavy French accent. What the Narrator says is purely fictional and is mainly a character introduction, though, his accent and sealife 'expertise' suggests he is a homage to Jacques-Yves Cousteau, the world famous sea life expert who passed away in 1997.

The voice of the French Narrator is done by Tom Kenny, who also does the voices of Spongebob Squarepants and Gary the Snail.
