St Clair is a suburb in the west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia located on the eastern side of the Penrith Local Government Area. This suburb is bordered by Erskine Park Road on its east, the M4 Motorway to the north and Mamre Road along its western boundary. The suburb to St Clair's East and South is Erskine Park.

St Clair was a new housing estate established in the 1980s. Its history was largely rural until the new housing development. Its population has soared over the past twenty years. St Clair is now a well established suburb with modern facilities with close access to the M4 Motorway, and a refurbished shopping centre in 1996.

Considerable parklands provide open space for recreational activities but unfortunately not enough sporting facilities with rugby league and Cricket not adequately accommodated for. Soccer however has excellent facilities on the corner of Bennett Rd and Endeavour Ave, across the road from the shopping centre. St Clair is a very family orientated area with newish style houses in a clean environment, good sized blocks and easy to use roads.

There's one main shopping centre in St Clair on the corner of Bennett Rd and Endeavour Ave, which includes Woolworths, McDonalds, Red Rooster, an RTA and several smaller shops. There's also a line of shops located along Meville Road. Erskine Park also has a shopping complex with Franklins and several other shops, but not enclosed like St Clair Shopping Centre.

St Clair High School is located on Endeavour Ave but several St Clair residents are zoned to go to the nearby Erskine Park High School. Private High Schools near St Clair include Emmaus Catholic College and Mamre Christian College. Primary schools in St Clair include St Clair Public School, Banks Public School, Blackwell Public School, Clairgate Public School and Holy Spirit Catholic School.

Three codes of Junior football are catered for in St Clair with the Strikers Soccer club, the Crows Australian rules football Club and the Comets rugby league Club. Rugby Union had one or two year short lived presence in St Clair during the mid-1990's.

There's also a strong presence with St Clair fielding teams in the sports of Athletics, Cricket, Netball, Basketball and Softball.

The Blue Cattle Dog Hotel is the only club or pub located in St Clair or Erskine Park, which is on the corner of Mamre Road and Banks Drive and is a good place for a social or quiet drink. St Marys RSL Club however is 200 m north of the Mamre Road-M4 Motorway intersection.

Next to St Clair is the Erskine Park suburb, which is located on the eastern and southern sides of Erskine Park Road. Erskine Park isn't as big as St Clair in housing and population but will be bringing a massive boom in economy to the area with a new Industrial area currently in the process of being developed.

St Clair is currently in the Blacktown dominant Federal Seat of Prospect, which is held by Labor's Chris Bowen.
