Donegal BnM railways
Hi there,
There's a few small systems in Donegal, marked on Johnson's Atlas and Gazetter of the Railways of Ireland. Also some recent info in Irish Railways in Colour (including a photo of a loco on the system).
There are more BnM railways in operation than the entire Iarnród Éireann route network!!!

The Den
POV or not, you wrote a pretty rockin article, I have to say. I thought, however, "quizzes with very poor prizes" was pushing the definition of NPOV :-) JOHN COLLISON | (Ludraman) 17:11, 10 Sep 2004 (UTC)
B & HA
I'm curious as to why you would support the Seagulls? Mintguy (T) 08:10, 22 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I'm just up the road from Brighton, if you want stuff from the Seagulls shop or anything let me know. Mintguy (T)
British English / Hiberno-English
I'm with you on supporting use of this rather than US English for non-US topics. However, I would suggest you don't get too hung up on it, and tread carefully. There's a lot more US English users on en: (here) than international/British English users. zoney ♣ talk 18:20, 23 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Been reading your user page...
...and how you say you're a "new Apple"-hating BeOS user...
well... lemme guess:
You used to be a happy and faithful Mac user in the pre-OS X days but in the vein of what John Siracusa had to say you got sorely disappointed by Mac OS X and co.uld ne.ver forg.ive Mac OS X to go backwa.rds in t.ime and reintrod.uce filen.ame extensi.ons and similar "non-Mac alike" solutions.
Correct?

UK/United Kingdom
You are right that [[United Kingdom|UK]] can look better than [[United Kingdom]] in some circumstances, indeed some changes were to that. Please feel free to change any that you wish to what you think looks best. I have disambiguated all references to UK (and they all meant United Kingdom:). Rich Farmbrough 22:47, 7 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Maynooth
I hope that my relation of the following anecdote doesn't offend you, but as you are from Maynooth I thought I might aswell make this inquiry. A few years ago (would have been 1998), my girlfriend and I went on holiday to Ireland. After getting of the plane we hired a car at Dublin airport. As we were driving out of the City we began to have some problems with the car, so we stopped at Maynooth to call the car-hire company from a public phone. As we were trying to sort out our money for the phone box a young girl of about 14 came up to us begging. She had a tobacco tin with a few pennies in it and was rattling it at us. We politely said "Sorry, no". We were concerned to sort out our car because we had a long journey ahead of just. The girl continued to rattle the tin but she didn't say anything like "spare some change please" as beggars often do in London. We again said - "No, I'm sorry" - but a bit more insistent this time. She still didn't go away, so I said "Look we've got a problem here, just bugger off will you!"; at which point she moved on. I was quite suprised by this incident. My parents are Irish, so I'd been to Ireland many times before this although not for about 15 years. It was my girlfriend's first time in Ireland and I was worried that this was going to give her completely the wrong impression. In fact I felt kind of embarressed. Thankfully we very much enjoyed the rest of the holiday. So as you are from Maynooth, I thought I might ask you this - is Maynooth impoverished, or was she likely to be a traveller or what? Biting the newcomer
Vandalism is not an excuse to personally attack anyone, let alone a newcomer. I had indeed looked at his contributions, and I saw this appalling attack on his page. If you have a problem with vandalism, feel free to deal with it properly, but do not stoop to personal attacks. See Wikipedia:Dealing with vandalism for more appropriate actions.
Please do not misinterperet me. I do not endorse vandalism, but to use personal attacks in response to newbie tests seems like an overreaction to me. I'd like you to know that Wikipedia, already has some templates for dealing with newbie tests such as this one, see{{Test1}}, {{Test2}}, etc. I will be monitoring your responses to innocent newbie tests, and I will take action for any further inappropriate responses. — Tuesday Teen 17:45, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)
